The
main part of the works involved in the Multipurpose Senior Center has been
completed; the Center will open shortly in 650 Uriburu St.
The Ministry of Social Development, the Government of the City
of Buenos Aires and the Joint Distribution Committee support this major
initiative. Its goal is to create an innovative service geared to offer the
conditions required for seniors and their relatives to enjoy a dignified life,
and make it possible for them to continue with their usual lifestyle and
greater autonomy.
The Center will organize activities twice a day, serving
approximately 500 persons. At no cost, participants will have available group
and individual professionally coordinated activities, lunch, medical care,
errand-running, and legal counseling, social guidance, etc.
The Multipurpose Senior Center is an alternative that
complements the work of the family and enhances the elderly people's quality
of life.
