June 10
An international commission of inquiry, led by Americans Henry C. King and
Charles R. Crane, is sent by the Peace Conference to Palestine. The two
have come to learn about the aspirations and needs of the residents of
Palestine regarding their political future. The committee's conclusions,
published at a later date, are anti-Zionist and recommend, among other
things, that the project of making Palestine distinctly a Jewish
commonwealth be given up and that Palestine be included in a united Syrian
state.
