In Vienna the New Zionist Organization (NZO) is established, headed by Ze'ev Jabotinsky. The founders are members of the Revisionist movement who seceded from the WZO. This results in a deep rift between Jabotinsky and Weizmann and the leaders of the Labor movement - who head the Zionist movement. The Jews in Eretz Israel number some 400,000. This constitutes 30% of the inhabitants of Palestine - more than double the number only four years earlier.
